Song O' Sky Show Chorus STAR-2011

Frances Ogasawara

Every Region 14 chorus and prospective chorus is encouraged to participate and give honor and recognition to that very special, above average, chorus member who exhibits some, or all, of the following characteristics:

1. Goes above and beyond the call of duty;

2. Exemplifies a true spirit of harmony within the chorus and community;

3. Loves and constantly promotes Sweet Adelines International; willingly gives time outside the framework of rehearsal time in any of the following forms: works in membership recruitment; serves as section leader or tape reviewer; prepares learning tapes; gives PVIs; serves as performance coordinator; has outstanding performance attendance; moves risers; participates in, or chairs/coordinates, any of the Chorus' Standing Committees; helps new members on music and choreography; etc.

The Star Awards are presented in July of every year at Region 14 Summer Music Camp. Each Chorus also honors the recipient with special recognition within her own chorus family. It is our privilege to feature Frances Ogasawara as the Song O' Sky Show Chorus STAR-2011

Frances Ogasawara is the Song O' Sky Star. She joined the Chorus in 1994 and currently is serving her third year as Treasurer. She has been a Board Member, Secretary, Standing Rules chair, Publicity chair, Costume Committee member and Show Committee member. Her new activity is singing with the Fun Times novice quartet. Frances does not say "no" and participates in every activity of the Chorus unless she is traveling. Even when traveling she assures that Chorus needs are met. Her dedication and dependability are exemplary. When she's not singing she volunteers with the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Ventures Bird Watching and Natural History Tours. Song O' Sky recognizes Frances and salutes her with a big "THANK YOU!"
