Do you like to sing? If you are a woman
who enjoys singing, you are welcome to visit our rehearsals at any
time. You do not need to know
how to read music to be a Sweet Adeline.
Sweet Adelines provides fun, fellowship, and loads of
music education. Our chorus is committed to vocal and
performance excellence. Since we sing a cappella (without
instrumental accompaniment), you simply need to be able to sing one
of our four parts with other parts being sung around you. We
have many singers whose only experience has been church choir or
high school chorus. We all learn together, taught by our
excellent director, as well as regular coaches with extensive
experience in vocal production and presentation.
One of our primary activities each year is regional
competition. It is here that we learn to perfect our art form
by being judged by a panel of international-level musical and
performance experts. Our chorus is committed to excellence and
continued improvement.
PLEASE NOTE: Because we
stand close on the risers, our rehearsals are FRAGRANCE FREE!
Some members and guests may be allergic to fragrances. On the
day of rehearsal, please refrain from using cologne, scented
hairspray, scented deodorant, scented lotions, or any other scented
products.
Be kind to your fellow singers.... they'll
thank you for it!
Detailed information will be provided to you at each
rehearsal that you attend as a guest. After attending four
consecutive rehearsals as a guest, you are eligible to audition for
the chorus. We meet every
Monday night at 6:45 p.m. at Reed Memorial Baptist Church, 756
Fairview Road, Asheville. The Church is located across the
street from Oakley Elementary School, and the Church parking lot is
on Cedar Street. Feel free to come and
visit, and experience the thrill of singing close harmony. Click here if
you need detailed directions.
